Windshield washer jet removal/adjustment

Has anyone ever removed the assembly that houses the washer jets?

I need to adjust mine, but trying to do this while installed is impossible for me.
The dealer tried this morning, but decided just to order a new set.

Why do you need to remove them, just out of curiosity?

You could also try checking forums for other audi models to see if the setup is the same and if folks have done this. I can't imagine Audi changing the configuration much for something so simple.

Good luck, keep us posted.

You can usually adjust these with a pin - you stick the pin into the jet and turn it (any which way you want) to adjust its direction of spray. Ordering new ones won't help because they'll have to be adjusted the same way once they're installled - ditto with removing them - which is unnecessary unless they're broken or so clogged up with something that needs external cleaning (which also changes their adjustment anyway).
Otto and Kobo33 like this.

Thought it would have required lifting up the hood and adjusting it from the underside.

Couldn't be easier than that!

It might be easy for others, but the Q3 nozzles have blind access. Despite trying numerous pin sizes there was no clear engagement.

I did not have much success, so it looks like I will have to live with it until the dealer gets a new set in. I have a long drive this weekend, let's hope the bug count is low.

These are pretty easy for me to see with a decent LED flashlight. What IS a bit tricky is that they are tucked under the hood a bit farther under and back than most - which required me to put a pin in a long needle-nose pliers - but was still achieveable for all six nozzles -

I suspect that Audi has some sort of special tool for this - and will ask later today ... but your dealer should've known that too - a new set still won't help until the nozzles are adjusted - so if they think it will, you'll still be frustrated until they figure out how to adjust them anyway.

Most gas stations have squeegees next to the fueling stations, so stopping by those when need be shouldn't be too bad.
