Cargo Mats

Good day all,
Just wondering if I can ask your opinion(s) on the Q3 cargo mats...? Last Saturday I went to my local dealer to order the "Anthracite" ($120) cargo mat and the parts guy had warned me that this mat may not be the best choice... He had already had 2 people upset with him when they ordered and came to pick up their mats when they discovered that it was not the traditional flexible rubber type of mat. That leaves the other cargo mat which is rubber with the tall sides for $329. I would be lying if I said that I dont mind paying $300+ for a cargo mat but I would rather do that then spent $100+ on a mat that I will be replacing sooner than later...

I like the OE mats so I am going to buy one or the other but I was just wondering if any of you can offer opinions on which you may own and how they are working out for you...

Thanks In advance for your help!!!!

I have the rubber one that looks like my rubber floor mats with the Q3 logo, but I think the cargo mat is not rubber, but another elastomer (not quite as much hand as my mats and has no rubber odor. I like it very much, but I think your stealer is taking advantage of you. It lists for $155 on my order sheet - nowhere near $300 -

I'll check the parts price shortly and give you a better outlook on that -

I have the on that is harder, non-rubber, Don't know the price because it was given to me by the dealer but I guess is the cheaper one. still looks good and protects the cargo area, it also has tall sides so anything that spills will stay in the tray. It also has the Q3 logo on it.

Yes, that's the one I have. the other one is refer on the website as heavy duty cargo tray, so I wouldn't expect it to be flexible neither

What I have is the $120 version (why it lists for $155 on order with the car surprises me) - but nonetheless, I am pleased with it. Apparently the $329 version goes up the sides a bit more 3-1/2" vs 1-1/2", but I haven't seen one to really compare. As for flexibility, I think the one I have is less flexible than the floor mats, but is certainly flexible enough and fits very well. Audi calls it all-weather and I'm satisfied (as a Chemical Engineer) that the material (I believe EPDM) is the right choice for this.

My parts guy said he thought the larger one was even 'stiffer' - so ...

I know there has been discussion on the all-weather type mats but, does the Q-3 come with regular carpeted mats?

Thanks,

John
