2 FOBs at once

We were driving the car yesterday. I had a key as did my wife. I started the car before my wife got in. We stopped for me to run an errand. Turned car off. Wife stayed in car with her key. When I got back in it said key not detected. Tried touching my key fob to start button without success. Ultimately had to grab wife's purse and get out of car with both FOBs. Got back in and it started fine.
