Hi guys, hope anyone of you knows why there is a knocking sound when I step on the brake? it sounds like coming from the front. Happens on either smooth or rough road.

How many miles are on your q3? How many miles on your tires? I’d rule the the most obvious first, visually inspect your wheels, tires, brake calipers, pads, then rotors. If it only happens when the brake is applied my first guess brake rotors? Get it checked, I wouldn’t chance It when it comes to brakes and stopping.

Thanks Jon. Mileage is only 16,000 km. this thing started at 7,000 km and until now I have not taken a closer look. I am pretty sure it is from the front left wheel. Yes it is indeed very annoying.. Will have it checked asap

I once had a rock stuck in my brake caliper on a Ram 4x4. It didn’t make a knocking sound but it did make noise. Took it to the tire shop and they found it. Removed it for free, so I got them some donuts.
