2016 Q3 Rear View Mirror

Hah ! - An interesting change for the new car is a BIGGER rear view mirror. Gone is the little oval and now an almost normal one. Actually the design is completely new for Audi, with the buttons on the bottom, and the outer frame edge much thinner - perhaps a bit too thin. The profile is fine, but seems upside-down compared with the rest of the line - at least from 2003 to 2015, except the R8 and TT, which both used the little oval baby we had before.

As for me, I'd already changed mine out for an A5/Q5 version because I wanted a bit more rear view real estate - even though most folks seem happy that the little oval baby "covered" everything necessary. I like my larger view now though, and it seems Audi agrees ...

Interesting.... Good catch Roger!
I was really hoping the 2016's were going to have the homelink within the mirror and I could get two updates with one... Even when we had the early pics with homelink on the side of the overhead console I still had some hope... alas another decision for me.... oops better quit whining and get back to work.... :crying:

Sorry Joe - Audi will prolly never put Homelink in the mirror - too easy. Even though they use Gentex mirrors, they create a most unique and unusual mount for them, whereas most of the rest of world live with the original GM mount.

And until they move to the MQB platform (the NEW Q3, not a facelift), will they integrate the Homelink into the overhead console - ditto the A3 - they just didn't think it (or seat memory) through for our market very well. I'm actually surprised about the mirror change for 2016 - but it's a much cheaper looking unit - heck it's just a mirror, but Audi likes to charge $600+ for one, perhaps it really is cheaper too - like the $200 or so for the GM mount versions (with Homelink for crying out loud)...

- as for Homelink in these cars - check this : :nerd:
I want a radar detector integrated into my mirror. I had to pull mine out to accommodate the sunshade since I changed jobs and no longer park in a garage at work. I know, first world problems.
