Alex on Autos, 2016 Q3 review coming soon

Not sure if anyone else is a fan of Alex ***** reviews as in Alex on Autos but he is currently reviewing the 2016 Audi Q3 and the review should be out in couple of weeks. He has a great overview of how the non-Q3 Quattro works if you have not seen it.
I'll send an update when it's released.

Looking forward to this. I always learn something from his reviews.
JUST POSTED - ALEXONAUTOS 2015 Q3 Review

Go to AlexonAutos.com and check out his review of the 2016 Q3. Alex Dykeds is definitely one of my favorite car reviewers. I did send him a note requesting a Q3 review a while back and VOILA! Love his comments on the handling, good comparisons too. :)
Awesome! I enjoy his reviews!!
OK, just watched the whole video.
My complaints first:

He spent WAYYYY to much time talking about the BMW X1. I am very disappointed as he usually does not favor another car in a review so much. I thought this could actually pass for an X1 review given how much time he talked about it.
His final comparisions did not include 'like for like' comparisons - the BMW and MB are significantly more expensive than the loaded Q3.

I am happy about the handling comment - I keep finding clover-type off ramps to rally the Q3 around - so surprising!
I think the gas mileage comment is not accurate. I am getting perfectly good mileage including 31 MPG on a freeway trip.

I do wish he has shared some of the cool features like the reversible cargo cover. I also think the Q3 is the BEST LOOKING of the competition and my wife and I looked at and drove them all.

Overall he does a nice job, I think he could have spent much more time talking about the Q3 instead of other vehicles.

I watched the video this morning. Generally I like Alex's reviews, but I too would like to see more focus on the car that he's reviewing Vs the constant back and forth comparing this or that feature to this or that other vehicle. I'd rather him spend more time illuminating cool features or noting missing features. If I wanted to compare the cars in a given class, I'd like to see a comparison chart compiling what he's learned from his individual reviews. I get lost in all the babbling back and forth about better than or worse than (not to mention adding complexity by discussing different model years for the X1). I did like hearing that he loved the handling in general and with the 19" tires. He gave average ratings for mileage and acceleration but I don't recall that he demo'd the drive selection options when commenting on acceleration. One can only do so much in a short video, but at ~25 minutes he could have packed in a lot more with less focus on other vehicle comparisons.
I just skipped his review of the interior and exterior and went right to his on road review. It's great to hear that he's giving the Q3 an A+ on handling and braking. Don't really care if the acceleration is a bit slower than the BMW.
I do wish he had tested another color as the black does not show off the rest of the car as well as a lighter color. I am getting many positive comments and looks from other drivers when they see my white Q3.
Maybe wherever he borrowed the Q3 from ran out of white ones if they are indeed better looking or they didn't have a white Q3 with the Technik trim.

Agree - it had the manufacturer plate. But the white does show off the black on the front/rear fascias so well.
The abbreviated version of Alex's video review and a text version of it are available here:

I've just read the review and holy cow, half of the review is about the BMW X1 and a few other models other than the Audi Q3!

Thanks for posting the link because it's easier to compare models when you see the price points listed in text instead of listening for it in a video. Good to know that the Audi Q3's price builds up slowly since most of the options you want in a vehicle comes standard with it.
I do think the NX is a competitor cost-wise. A loaded Q3 is $42K and a loaded NX is $42K as well. The MB and BMW were priced higher like for like.

Really, Alex sure does have a man crush for the BMW's X1 in '15 & unseen '16 versions.

However, his YT video was what swayed me for the Q3.
Once I got over all his X1 noise & noticed the constant refrain of baby seat+value+handling in the Q3 it really let me take notice of what's important for me.
Don't forget the driving pleasure of the Q3!!
Yes John, that was the difference maker: driving dynamics

This is my first Audi and I am very impressed by how it drives. I must say that I am enjoying driving this far more than the BMW 135i I owned for a short time.

I am very enthusiastic about the Audi brand at this point and wish I had found it sooner.

Have you put the Q3's handling through it's paces on twists and turns?
The main thing I gathered from the review is that the Q3 handles very well.

Funny thing, is my wife was the one that mentioned it was pretty spirited to drive.
I pooh poohed it until I got behind the wheel.
we've taken 2 test drives & I am very impressed with the road handling & composed cockpit.
Drives a lot like my GTI. Which essentially the Q3 is.

Now if Audi would only take the engine from the Golf R and put it into a Q3 to create the SQ3! We need 298 horsies!!!
