Audi aims to surpass BMW as the world's largest luxury car maker by 2020. The gap between the two automakers now stands at 79,600 vehicles.
Audi posted a 8.3% surge in deliveries in 2013 to a record 1.58 million cars and SUVs. In particular, models like the A3 compact, the Q5, and the Q3 have seen increasing demand and have helped to bolster Audi's sales numbers.
Audi has plans to expand its model lineup from 49 models to about 60 by 2020. Audi will introduce a new sedan version of the A3 hatchback in the US and China soon, and it will also release an overhauled version of the TT sportscar later in the year. It also has plans to create a Q1 that would round out the bottom end of its SUV lineup.
