The Audi Q3 will be freshened up a bit with a facelift before the end of the year. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the Board of management of Audu AG and head of Audi's Technical Development, said "I think we're having the facelift in November or December".

Spy shots show that the entry-level crossover will have new graphics for the headlights and tailights, as well as slightly different bumpers. Q few changes in the cabin are also expected.

This looks to me to be the same car we saw recently - I for one do NOT believe Audi would make such a change OTHER than in August (where a plant shutdown is necessary for the sheet metal & parts change-over). Nor do I think they would make this change within just 60 days of intro into their largest single global market - the US, and risk an affront to those just buying into the car here for the very first time. That would almost certainly poison those early buyers - most, for so much longer a time than waiting for a "normal" cycle update.

Just my 2¢ ...

I hope you're right as we should be getting our Q3 this month. If by chance Audi does an update anytime for 2015, I'm going to blast Audi with an email as it will be my first and last Audi I ever buy.

You would by far not be alone nor unique with only some 5000 cars of a projected 40K, just here...

I suppose its possible that they only release the facelifted version in Europe at first. But then I think that people would be upset that they are also getting the facelifted version. If they were to start selling the facelift in December, there would be a similar problem anyway though.

Can't please everyone. I wouldn't mind that they release the face lifted version in Europe first, it is afterall their home market. However it would be even better that they release the facelifted version in at least of few of the brands biggest markets.. america being one of them.

I'm still having a hard time imagining this even possible without a plant shutdown - which they just had in August - that sometime in November or December just 60 days later in an annual-cycle plan - while trying to saturate the NA market with production - would even think of such a kooky thing. Then the question becomes why?? Why NOT have done it in August when you normally would've, could've or should've - than to have your current year model interrupted with this? It just makes NO sense on SO many levels. I'd've called that Audi dude a quack (or at least called BS) for suggesting such a dumb thing - he obviously has no sense of production or market sensitivity - and if it's true - neither has Audi - this is just NOT Kundenbegeisterung at all ... I don't think it's true - just crap !!

This was supposedly a quote to some folks from Indian Autos Blog at the Paris Auto Show - I still think it's crap and will be simply AMAZED if even a hint is factual ... the ONLY other source of this rumor is HERE - above. I just cannot imagine it.

I'd imagine they will have 6months of Q3 in USA, then a global facelift roll out.

I can't see them announcing facelift that soon, given they've only just started shipping US cars.

I just had a discussion with some folks at AudiUSA on this subject. They believe that we can expect the normal mid-cycle face lift to arrive in the US about this time NEXT year after an August 2015 shut-down turn-around at Martorell...

Conversation should of stopped here. I think. He's head of technical development, not design, nor the project lead on Q3. As the head of technical development he's likely the least familiar person with the project...
