Audi Side Assist... unavailable?

Just got this on my MMI today.

Said that the Audi Side Assist unavailable, has this happened to anyone before?
Will probably bring it into the dealer tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone else has gotten this error?

Hmm. Could it be due to a sensor being blocked or thinking it's blocked?

Yep, this happens from time to time (some radar detectors shut it down and vice versa). It wil usually reset itself (ignition off) and if counted too many times will throw a DTC...
I've had this problem happen to me before as well. Ended up taking it to the dealer to get it checked out but it was no biggie to fix. Now I wonder if there is a way to mask it from radars or whatever and stop it from shutting down?
I hear that those sensors can get covered in dirt or something like that and stop working. Have you tried cleaning it off?

This is true to an extent, was even more true when these first came around on cars over a decade ago. Not sure if they've improved on the tech to ignore that, but definitely something to look into.
Sometimes its the easiest solution that is the best one. :D

The detectors are behind the mirror glass and get "set" or unset. That's when they get kinda screwed up. You must recycle the ignition NOT merely switch off the system with the switch on the A pillar, to reset them.
Got some other errors such as Automatic Headlights/wipers: System Fault.

Bringing it into the dealership tomorrow, will try to report back.

looking forward to what gets reported back and how long it takes them to fix it and what exactly is wrong.
Reporting in, they told me it's a wiring issue for the lights and sensor.

Just for your car or generically - I've had NO issues with mine since delivery in Nov...thanks for following up.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can fix it fast and that will be it.
It crapped out again, and was down for a week... I brought it back to the dealer today and they said they need to look at it over night.

Updates to come...
That is strange indeed - keep us updated ...
Just got off the phone with Audi. Apparently the Rain Light Sensor was bad, and it ties in with Auto Light sensor.
...at least they'll get it fixed.
Security code SIDE ASSIST

Please someone can tell me how to configure the side assist in VAGCOM, I put it and I think that we need to put a security code which not is where s obtained, thanks
The radar sensors for the Side Assist are located behind the rear bumper cover, one on each side. Not to be confused with the round Park Assist ultrasonic sensors (the dime size circles visible on the bumper covers). The Side Assist mirror only contains the yellow warning LEDs.
