Audi showed off a prototype of its new Audi Smart Display tablet at the recent Consumer Electronics Show. The project is a collaboration with tech-giant Google, and will provide consumers with a wealth of new options for networking between the car, its driver and the Internet.
Drivers and passengers will be able to connect "seamlessly with the car and enrich it with the state-of-the-art computing and graphics power of its Nvidia Tegra 40 processor." This connection will be done "through a secure and stable WLAN interface, and via the very familiar Android operating system."
The tablet should allow you to do things such as watch movies, listen to audio books and music, video chat via Skype, and control the radio, media and navigation system too.
No idea what the Audi Smart Display tablet will end up costing, but it seems to be a step in the right direction.
