Just got my Audi Q 3 and find a large build up of muck on lower door sills in side of door
Um, was this BEFORE you drove if off the lot, or after you got home?

Where are you located? Were you driving on "mucky" streets or just Quattroing it through the mud?

Welcome!! There are many on this forum who are very knowledgeable (some of us, not so much) and are able to answer most of your questions or point to someone who can...

If you think it was delivered like that let your dealer know. If they give you a rash...... just let them know your contacting them first about issues/complaints before filling out the Buying Experience Survey. They want a 10 rating....nothing less...however be honest about it. Did it come like that or did you drive through a cow field.

Interesting post...I seem to recall seeing a concern about this in a post some time ago. Since we are about to enter into our "mucky season" where snow and ice build up mixes with "sanding" and then you have thaw/freeze cycles, I will be finding out in the next month or two whether this is a problem. When I was contemplating getting a Lexus NX early this year (before turning to the Q3), I was reading the Lexus forum and there was a major complaint from a few drivers about the door design as it allowed significant build up. One guy went as far as to devise additional weather stripping solutions to seal up the issue. Needless to say that gave me some pause about buying that model... Hopefully this is not an issue with the Q3.

...snip... Hopefully this is not an issue with the Q3.
Regrettably, it is an issue. The front wheels inject sprayed road effluents into the lower door seam. I installed the mud flaps hoping they would stop the issue, but they have little effect.

Grrr... I was starting to think again about the mud flaps...my wife asked me yesterday if we would be taking both her new 2015 Outback and my new Q3 when we go xcountry skiing this winter. I suggested that the Outback was better equipped for this because it has the cladding around the bottom so not subject to paint damage from rocks tossed up (sanding in Oregon is ground up red lava rock...great for window and paint damage). I thought that the flaps might mitigate the dings along the side panels but now I wonder.....

Take the Outback!!:|

We've always had an older model 4-wheel drive big Jeep just for the grit and slop of the ski areas....there's no way our Q3 is going there....probably ever!

Not only is your Outback very Oregon and good in the snow, it will hold all your gear.....that's why we have our CANADIAN made Jeep.
Sorry....just trying to add to the controversy over country of assembly. >:D

This is a constant cleaning headache - if you look at where the door seal is compared to the inner door area, you'll see why - kind of dumb imho, but nonetheless a part of our cars ...
