Hi All, I bought myself a Q3 (2012) - S-line model (140BHP) the other week. I noticed that the coolant temperature does not reach 90 degree as like my previous car which was a VW. Is this normal as the temps reach around 80 degrees and on the motoway it does go up to 85 nearing to 90 and then it will go back down to 80 or below when doing downhill. I assumed that these modern cars will stick at 90 as optimal car temperature.

I took it back to the dealer as its under warranty and they mentioned that normal temperature is at 80 degrees. They ran diagnostics and no errors presented.

Any advice as im worried there is an issue with the car i have purchased. Car drives fine with no issues,

Cheers

I have a 2015 Q3, and under normal conditions it's at 90 degrees, I don't think the dealer is correct in what they are telling you, it may need a new thermostat.
