Hello all,

My wife had an unfortunate mishap with our Q3 last weekend. She was maneuvering around a turning vehicle and rubbed her front driver side wheel against a high curb. Needless to say, there were substantial chips and scratches to the rim. Took the wheel to a repair shop in Clifton, NJ and they are going to strip, sand and coat it for $130, which I didn't think was too bad of a price. Will upload repair pic after we get the wheel back, which will be today or tomorrow.

Question, I had trouble finding a price for the OEM rim, does anyone know how much they cost in NA?

Ouch......hope the repair works out for you. Have you tried calling the dealer for a price just to get an idea? I'm sure its going to be over $500 at least.

Haven't called the dealer, but we did get the rim back yesterday and it looked good. I didn't get home till after dark so I wasn't able to throughly look it over, but my wife said it looked brand new when the shop put the wheel back on. I will take pictures and post the before/afters.

I figured a new rim would be like $400-500. I might call the dealership for sh*ts & giggles.

Gosh darn that was chewed up good. Can't wait to see a picture of the after. But yea I've seen their in the 400-500 range. Maybe after tax and shipping could tip a little over if you're buying online. The dealership will of course have a good mark up but if you do end up calling to find out let us know please !

Ouch, she really curbed it :( But normally those rim repair places do a great job. I bet you won't even notice once it's repaired. Also that's a great price!

Here are the before/afters from the repair. I am happy with the turnout. The color was an initial concern, but i think the difference that's showing is because the rims where just polished in the before pictures. Anyway, $130 to make that problem go away.

Darn they did do a great job. For that price, definitely worth it !
Not just that, but think how much better your wife now feels....

It's human nature to fret over something like this, hope you gave her a hug, and now that's it's fixed, you've both forgotten the entire incident.

.....learned a thing or two in 48 years of marriage! 0:)
