Davisville, RI port

While this is kind of the same topic as 'my car is on the boat,' I wasn't sure how long one thread can live and still be responded to!
So....there are two vessels in the ocean - one of which has my Q3. (Yes, okay - there are many vessels in the ocean, but I'm only interested in two at the moment. ;)) The first, the 'Grand Ruby' seems to be hovering very near the port, but is not docked yet. It looks like there are several vessels still there, and I'm sure there is limited space. Does anyone know what the time zone they are using is - LT?? It looks like it should be in soon, at some point today.
The other vessel is still in that 'lost zone' where it can't be tracked. It also looks like it's delayed by two days, according to the port schedule.
I read on another forum that there is a way to contact the port to get info on your specific vehicle. Hmmm. I did find a phone number for Norad, who claims 'advanced vehicle tracking' so I wonder if they would talk to me? It would be fun to track the vehicle (by VIN?) from port to Ohio.
Anyone?
THANKS! :laugh::x

Gaawrsh !! I just can't help myself, if I try to help you  -

First, your ABS CAN confirm which vessel (Istra Ace or Grand Ruby) it's on so you can get past that trauma - but as I told you, my bet would be the Istra Ace as its one of VW's most common and the Grand Ruby is one of BMW's ... I'll try to check it later this morning myself, as I know your ABS is somewhat limited to help.

As for tracking from port to Ohio - THAT is gonna be pretty OC AND not too easy unless the driver gives you his GPS beacon data - or better yet have the port enable your Audi Connect with your VIN, leave the ignition on the whole way (maybe the battery will last for a day) - don't worry they WON'T do this - they don't have the SIMs - it just sounded about as OC as anything ...;)

Once your car is released from Davisville, it's usually only 2-3 days to Ohio, so this is stress simply not needed. I mean really, perhaps you can get the driver to tweet every time he stops to pee or get coffee, or god-forbid, stop over at another Audi center on the way ...

oh, and you PROMISED me you were gonna relax - hmmm, it's like trying to hold it - the closer you get, the harder it is - I'll bet your knees are really knocking now >:D
Oh, funny funny guy.
Yes, I think I'm losing my mind over this whole Audi thing.
But seriously - I am NOT in a huge hurry. Because of how I'm maneuvering my credit scores in anticipation of the final credit check, the end of the month is just fine. For me, I really enjoy watching and learning about this whole process. It's fascinating...and will make the ownership experience all the more enjoyable.
I think you're cool - on the edge to be sure, but cool - I'm feelin and hopin you'll be lovin your Q as much as this anticipation - :D
Lookie what I just got!!
Now we will see if my vehicle's status changes....or if it's on the other boat.

btw, the Grand Ruby just arrived at 14:37 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time alias GMT or Greenwich Mean Time) which right now is 4 hours ahead of us, so the ship came in at 10:37 EDT

The Istra Ace is still out of range, but scheduled ETA is Sunday at about 2:00 PM EDT
ooops, I'm SO redundant now :crying:

HA! Yes, I beat you to it. But thank you for the investigation. Now - were you able to snoop to see WHICH boat she's actually on?! :x
