In having an issue with the incl. Audi Main Dealer cost of £36.00 for the 5 minute replacement of a £7.99 pollen filter, does anyone have any ideas on whether a DiY change would invalidate any warranty clauses?

DIY on this is NO problem for your warranty (unless you break something else) - although it's not as easy as it sounds, but not really difficult either ... just be careful in dragging the old one out that you don't break a few plastic tabs on your housing - THAT would be much more than 5 min to fix (and quite a few more quid) ...
