This lack of heated steering wheel was a bit of an issue for my wife before we finally ordered the Q3. It's generally well above freezing where we live, but after she drove my car that has the heated steering wheel, it's something she really wanted.

I really like Otto's "lap of luxury" idea, but I went one step further and bought my wife hand-warmers. I figure we saved a bundle by not buying another car with a heated steering wheel. :p

I am a bit bummed to give up my heated steering wheel. Last vehicle had it and I used it way more than I thought. Sad that Audi does not see fit to have it at this price point.

That's certainly true in the Q3 price range.....but, can you believe it, the 2005 Nissan Maxima that was my company car for a couple of years had a heating steering wheel.

Well, as we kept the car at the airport in Riverside, CA where it was not unusual for the temperature to exceed 100 degrees, we assumed it has a heated steering wheel because it had a button showing a steering wheel with flames or something coming out of. Actually, my wife drove the car to a ski area in California one time and she absolutely loved the heated steering wheel....it was something she had to give up to get the car she preferred to drive, the Q3!

I currently have a Lexus that came with a higher price tag then the Q3, a heated steering wheel was not offered as an option.

The NX we shopped did come with a heated steering wheel.

My Kia Soul had a heated steering wheel and cooled seats.

Don't want to descend into a 'this or that' conversation just meant that I do wish I had a heated steering wheel. :D

Korean cars are known to have some great options as standard. I guess different brands have different priorities.

Good point. I think once I see an option on a car at a much lower price point I expect it at a higher price point car too.
Plus these options are quite nice: Heated steering wheel, cooled seats, and power mirrors that fold when you lock unlock the car. These are the items I will miss on the Q3. But....I love everything else about it!!!
