So, it says that this package includes:

2. Parking system plus rear view camera

Does it have automatic parking like in this video?

No, just beeper warnings front and rear as you get closer to objects. You have to steer.

Thanks Boblepp.

So is that auto parking only available in Europe and Asia? I see Q3s in South Korea also had that auto parking.

It is not in Canada or USA so... If they don't trust us to not pinch our fingers closing the sunroof they would have a cow if we wanted auto parking (where we could pinch entire human beings!) without the testing required. I know Ford and others have it in NA but I imagine there were lots of hurdles to leap over. We get such a limited set of options to order because they know they will sell them all anyway.

Though I can't decide if the lady's bloody red nail polish or my car driving that far away from me by itself is more scary, it is indeed a bit too much!

I'm old school and while I did like the old Knightrider show with K.I.T.T. I like driving, not the car driving me.

Plus all this could be "the terminator" starting. BOO!
I just have an issue with this... When I drive I like to drive, when I ride I like to ride. Flog them a bit in the corners, enjoy the curves on a country road. If you want to sit back and look at scenery take a train or a bus, get there quicker take a plane then hope you get a fun rental car at that end. Hey maybe im getting old but I like to think that ive learned a thing or two along the way...>:D

So I have a weird question about the Park Assist if anyone knows. When I pull into my garage at home, the park assist doesn't work as I pull forward. If I put it in park, back up a bit, then pull forward again, it will work. My headlights are on auto, so they turn on as I am pulling in the garage. Could the headlights coming on somehow be interfering with the park assist?

I think you have to press the park assist button to enable it since you are in D as you pull in to the garage. It automatically turns on when you go to R, and stays on even when you switch to D from R until you reach a certain speed, prob 10 mph?
Above is correct - I'd thought I'd found a VCDS solution to allow the front PDC to stay on, but nope not yet. Still working that ...
Ah...thanks! For some reason, I thought it kicked in automatically if it sensed something close up front.

I do wish the front sensors worked all the time without having to activate them. I have owned vehicles for 10 years with the sensors and this is the first one where they are not "live" all the time. Make no sense!
I agree and have not found a plausible reason for it not too - other than that code has just not yet been developed for this platform or control module. It may be like the seat memory thing - just weird ...

I wondered why - cost cutting or German engineering. Either way, as is, it reduces the effectiveness and purpose of the sensors. Just dumb.
