First, welcome to the forum - hope you find what you need/want here... Second, I'm not quite sure what you mean by DRL activation. If you have LED headlights, you should already have your DRLs activated. Where are you? If you're in Canada, they (DRLs) should be on all the time, and if in the US, they MAY not come on unless your headlight switch is set to AUTO, unless this was also coded in VCDS or VAS.

Thanks Roger :)

I'm in the US and DRLs do not go on when i put the switch on position 0 or position auto. They must be coded via
VCDS. Do you have an idea on how to activate them using VCDS ?

I'm stumped that they are not ALREADY activated. While there IS coding within VCDS for them, I think your best bet is to visit your dealer on this - perhaps you have some defective parts, as they should be on already... and fixing them to be so, would be a warrantable item...

Hey Roger ! diddn't find time to visit dealer :( lot of work. I just want to check my coding for Module 9 and it would be very helpful if you could supply the coding of this module for FL Q3 with LED headlights. thx

Hah ! wish that I could. I am a volume of info, and maybe Google would have trouble keeping up, but I do NOT have at my mere disposal a list of coding for every car, year, option or module ... nor am I connected with VCDS enough of every (or any for that matter) day to search. My apologies for not meeting your expectations, but I have a day job and a life too - which means I fully understand your ":( lot of work" reference - sorry -

I didn't ask before as I just presumed you'd already checked your MMI setting, but did you? In Car Systems, Vehicle Settings, Exterior Illumination - there is a setting where you can turn the DRLs off also. This is independent of coding the module (although it does the same thing via MMI)...

Thanks Roger for the quick reply and for your availability, really much appreciated !
Sorry to get back to this DRLs issue but it's really frustrating to pay for Full LED headlights and miss
the DRLs.
Yes of course i checked exterior lighting in the MMI but i have nothing related to DRLs.
i called today a guy working in Audi and he confirmed that it is purely software and in no case hardware question.

This is the reason why i asked for coding.

Is there a security access code in Module 09 ?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Ok, you have my sympathy - give me about an hour to check. I'll post the long coding for you. If you need to get into channels to fix this (where you'd need a security code) THAT would rather be a dealer call cuz for sure its a warrantable thing. Bad enough if you don't have a DRL option under MMI, that alone tells me you have a coding problem. Have you gone into the green menu for anything? That'd be the easiest way to screw this up. If you haven't, don't ask about it. Stay safe and hang on a bit ...

Ok, here you go - it's not the most recent scan, but certainly has stuff set up correctly for your DRLs - and you may get a few extras that you like (or not). I'd recommend just walking the long coding helper by byte and compare what you got and what's here. At least I can tell you this is solid working code for an NAR Q3.

You can enable Menu Control to DRL via Coding Control Unit 9, the Central Electrics.
Control Unit 9, Coding, Byte 15, Bit 7->Activate to Enable Menu Control
Restart MMI, you will find DRL menu items in Car, Light, Exterior Light, DRL.

Different countries have different standard codings - most of my comments here are for US or NAR cars ...
and most US dealers will NOT do such coding changes for their customer cars as Audi of America doesn't support that functionality through VAS
