I thought Edmunds was a pretty reliable site for car info, but I was surprised to see they gave the Q3 a C, but the Jeep Cherokee an A. I drove both and thought the braking and transmission on the Jeep were dreadful. I obviously came home with the Q3, and I love her.... but it makes me wonder what they use for criteria if a braking distance of a mile and a jerky transmission qualify for an A-rating.

What am I missing? Is Jeep a big advertiser on their site?

You're missing the politics, but you hinted at them. Then yes is the last answer...

Of course! Shame on me, I work in marketing. LOL.

Consumer Reports gave it a 77 on a range of 61 to 85 for all small luxury sport-utes. Dinged in mainly for "tight quarters" and short distance range of headlights. It's o'dark'30 when I drive to work and I've not noticed I use my brights any more in this car than my previous one.

I find it amusing they ding most of the small sport-utilities for being... small.

I love mine and will love it even more when my new mats arrive from Spain.

:D
