Enable Video in motion on MMI. Allows the PASSENGER to watch videos on MMI screen while moving. Take care, some laws do not allow this and it can be very dangerous if the driver is distracted with video so use extreme caution.

[5F - Information Electr.]
[Advanced ID - 1A] Note 1st Serial number
[Security Access] Enter Digits 6, 13, 10, 14, 11 (left to right) of the 1st Serial number
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 48
Set to 255
Reset MMI

To reset the MMI press [tone + center button + top right] at the same time. The screen will go black and then show the splash screen after booting.

So where is the video stored? SD card? Can you select any file format from an SD card within the MMI system? I've never used an SD card in an Audi before so this is new territory for me on both fronts.

This mod simply prevents the video playback of a DVD from being shut off once you start moving. It's not something I'd ever do unless there was a passenger wanting to watch or listen to something on a long trip.

I wasn't even aware that the MMI system could play video/DVDs, I thought that was exclusive to aftermarket headunits. TIL

Yeah, I didn't know that either until after I read the manual. I thought, wow, this thing can play movies. So I ran out to the garage and put one in and sure enough. Then I realized pretty quick that it shuts off when you get going so I just had to put the mod in there. I have a baby girl so it will really come in handy when she wants to listen to her programs.

See page 27 of MMI manual. SD or DVD or CD or Jukebox. Several video formats supported.

I'm not that interested, I'll never use the feature. If a passenger wants to watch video, then they can use a tablet with a better screen.

Then why did you ask for information on it??
For a quick reply in response to the wow factor of a factory unit playing video, in regards the actual functionality there are better/safer alternatives if you want to watch a video in the car.

Well then, I suppose this thread is not for you then. I for one like the feature and "Video in motion" is a very popular mod that a lot of people ask about.

I tried looking for the above coding and it wasn't in the menu at all.
anyone know why? 2016 Q3
You can do this even on normal Mmi with navi but without dvd to see video(so not Mmi plus)??
Is there a solution for RMC versions or do we still need to use the tongle ?
The only reason I want to unlock VIM is because I am going to mirror my smartphone on the car's monitor.
