Front Grille Upgrade/Removal - anybody done it yet?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone's looked into/removed their front grille yet. I've got an RS Q3 grille incoming for the fiance's Q3, and was just wondering if there are any hidden screws or tips anyone knows about. The part just cleared customs in NY today, so hopefully it'll be here soon! If nobody has done so already, I'll be sure to create a well documented DIY thread for everyone :)

So these are Audi parts ? Now I'm REALLY curious ...
Although I adore my new Q3, I am not a fan of the wheels it comes with. Anybody know if these gorgeous A6 wheels would fit the Q3?

Your wheels are 8.5x19 ET 43 wheels and these you like are I believe 8.5x19 ET45 wheels (P/N : 4G0 601 025 BG @$495 each) - I think they would easily fit and cause no problems. Talk with your dealer and see if they'd be willing to swap with an A6 customer or even a new car. Confirm tire size though - you have 255/40 R19s and I'm not sure what the A6 has on those wheels but I think may be 255/35 R19s - not a big difference, but you should stick with your tire/wheel OD for best results and speedometer/odometer readings ...

YOU ARE SO SMART!! :x
I did inquire about this in the very beginning, hoping they could make the swap during the build. I was told in no uncertain terms: NOOOO. Apparently Audi is a stickler about standard equipment. I was told I'm on my own for that swap. I guess it's worth asking the Parts dept. with my son being a dealership employee, I should actually get a decent discount, and $495 is less than what I expected.
Thanks for the info!
You should be able to get them for about $370 each - not really that bad ...

Finally got it installed!

Guy working on it did a great job with the fenders so no clips broke; He did however use automotive double sided tapes to secure the fender after putting the bumper together because the force of pulling on it may have bent the fenders a bit.

I provided a high temp. spray can and he sprayed the bumper reinforcement with it. It took about 3 hours of labor.

Still waiting for my permanent plates to come in, until then I will leave the temp. plate off.

So basically the difference between the two grilles is that the regular model one has vertical lines and the RS version has a kind of fishnet mesh instead.
