My nephew is trading up a leased Q5 to a Q7 and his Q5 18 inch winter rims are coming to me. Offset is the same ET36.

The bolt patterns are the same, 5 X 112 but the center bore is 66.5 Q5 versus 57.1 for the Q3... so they would fit... with a 9.4/2 = 4.7 gap at center.

I have never tried this... do the wheels lose stability if the center bore is too big? or do the bolts truly do all the centering required?

Should I avoid using them, they have good Pirelli snows mounted.

The lug bolts actually take care of all the centering providing the hole is already big enough - but rings help positioning that's all ...
