Bought a Q3 last Saturday, but won't be getting her until next month.

Getting the AWD, MMI, Driver Assistance and Power Lift Gate, black/black.

Next month isn't too bad of a wait. Congrats on the purchase. What color did you get?

And welcome to the forum!

Boy, now this really pisses me off. I called the dealer today for an update. Claims that he called me 2 weeks and left a message (I think not). Anyway, the Q3 that was supposed to be in around 10/22 was grabbed by another dealer (hence the BS voice mail from 2 weeks ago).

Now they had to actually order me a Q3 and claims it won't be in until the end of Nov, which I doubt will be on time.

If they ordered it anytime lately, it'll be MUCH later than November. My car was ordered on 5 August (actually 25 July - earliest day to), built on 18 September, and won't be at my dealer until 17 November. Take 4 weeks out of that time since August was a plant shutdown bust, and that yields about 11 weeks...

Now my car is at Emden waiting to be ship-loaded (I hope actual was today) and it'll prolly make it to stateside port (Jacksonville or Charleston) the week of 7 November, so I might see it the next week, so it could be just 9-10 weeks for you, but that is STILL late December, and with holidays - don't hold your breath for November, more like mid- January. Perhaps they'll find another car like your spec in the pipeline, and if your dealer gave yours up, he might could get another just like it. None were in any queue like mine, so I had to start from scratch ...

Welcome to the boards, how dead set are you on your custom order? like Roger said, the wait time will be significant, perhaps poaching one of another lot may be for the better...

From the dates i have been hearing and seeing, i think it's enough to have people move on to something else already available.

Our custom order also was based upon the agreed price of $37,765.

This package included Premium plus, Quattro, Nav, Driver assist, power tailgate.

While getting the car isn't urgent, when I told my wife the end of Nov, she wasn't all to happy. If by chance it goes until Jan 2015, she's going to flip.

Going by the AudiUSA site it's not very easy to locate a Q3 unless you put in a zip code. Unlike other manufacturers you could just put in a miles area from your location.

Have your dealer do a vehicle search - they can also see allocations that are in the pipeline besides inventory already assigned. If they can spot the same car (or close to it) they can possibly divert it. You can use your signed Purchase Agreement as leverage to get you a car as soon or sooner than they promised - perhaps to your advantage by getting some additional equipment (depending on what they locate) at less cost...

Have them give YOU the area sales rep - call them directly - mention Kundenbegeisterung - this is Audi's mantra for "customer delight" - they will go to lengths to please you. Ask for Scott Keogh's number too...

Great mention of that, it really does help to know this stuff and to make use of it. Higher end dealers like these are more focused on pleasing the customer so you can expect them to go to those lengths and more. \

Great advice.

Let us know if this strategy works for you in the end.

Guess my email caught someone's eye.

I received an email today from Anna - Executive Case Specialist in Auburn Hills, MI. The emailed informed me that someone will be in contact with me before the close of business, Thur, 10/30.

Got home late to night and there's a message from someone in North Jersey wanting to talk with me and hopefully can resolve my situation and gave me his cell phone.

Since it's 7:45pm DST I figure I'll be nice and call him back tomorrow morning.

Stay tuned.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for emailing me today as I was just going to get back to you.

On Tuesday I received a message from Mike Brerton (sp??) at 4:43pm and he left me his cell phone number. Since I returned home 7:30pm I didn't want to bother him. But I did call him the next morning at 10:20am and left a message for him to call me back and that was on Wed. Today being Thursday, I called him back again at 9:30am and left another message for him to return my call and this time also gave him my work number. So far no return call from Mike.

(Now pardon my soapbox)...Do you really care about client service???

At first I was so confident that someone from Audi would get back to me and you did. So I was sure that when Mike first called me we would get together to discuss my purchase.

At this point my wife (who I purchased the Q3 for) is totally upset and just wants to go back to the dealer and get our deposit back and I'm trying to talk her into giving this a few more days But, between being told about our original delivery date of 10/22 (which could now be anytime between the end of Nov to who knows) and Mike not returning my phone calls our first Audi experience has not been the best.

Can you please have someone else reach out me to discuss how we can get our 2015 Q3 before the 2016 models come out (Yes I'm being sarcastic).

Thanks

(Figured the above would raise some eyebrows). I also cc: Brad Stertz who's listed on Scott Keogh's page as "the" PR person.

This is the email I received back from Anna....and as soon as I started to email her back Mike called my home. I went over the whole process. He also feels that if the dealer reserved the car for me, another dealer can't grab it. Some one from the dealer or his area will get back to me by 12pm tomorrow.

"Thank you for bringing this additional information to our attention. I regret to hear that you have not received the follow up that is expected from our organization. Customer satisfaction is a vital element in our endeavors, and we are saddened to hear that we have fallen short of this.

This matter will brought to the attention of all appropriate parties within Audi of America. I will follow up with you upon my return on Monday, November 3, 2014"

Here's an update.

My name/info was passed to a number of people before someone called me. And then we played telephone tag all day. So I ended up driving to the dealer to get the scoop.

My salesman claims that the Q3 he showed me when promised to another dealer and he was trying to a swap. And when that didn't happen he claims that he kept on looking for another Q3. But in the meantime we all know that they're not out there, so on 10/14 he did place the order with the factory. So it was 6 weeks from my purchase until the order was placed.

I did see the order and now the Q3 isn't due in until 12/02 and delivered to the dealer around Christmas. My wife and I are not happy at all that it's going to be 4 months from purchase to delivery.

One of the people from Audi who did call me is going to see what he can do with another dealer, but I really doubt anything is going to happen.

IMO, Audi really blew this big time with the Q3 in general with selling them before they were even bulit and in the USA.

I'm also asking for better consideration on my trade as we do have the choice of trading our car in or selling it. Unfort, IMO selling a car privately around Christmas is going to be very hard.

This has not been a very good experience with my first Audi purchase.

I just received a call from another dealer that the area GM put me in touch with. He's sold out until getting the Q3 until Mar/Apr 2015.

Talk about blowing this big time. Again, Audi should have waited untl the Q3 was in the USA before selling them. I'm sure alot of people walked out of the dealers and went to buy something else.
