I brought my car into the dealer to repair something under warranty and they gave me a 2015 Q5. What I found weird is you need the key fob to put into the ignition to push the starter button. Is that extra on the new Q5's?

I thought with last year's model they would have started with the keyless entry in both>

The Q5 I drove recently was keyless....no need to use a key for any purpose.

Do you suppose "keyless" is an extra? That would be my guess....

As for the Q5 Anne drove, it was possible but not necessary to put the key into the dash, unless it didn't
have the start button, then you push the fob while in the dash ...
