Found this cool suspension system that you can control from your smartphone and thought I would post some info on it.

The KW DDC ECO coilovers with optional smartphone control for the Audi RS Q3 provide "targeted damper adjustment as well as continuous lowering of 15 to 45 mm at the front and rear axle."

You'll need to purchase a KW WLAN box in order to enable app-control over a secure Wi-Fi connection, but the app itself is free in the Apple App Sore and the Google Play Store.

Here are some more pictures and you can follow the link for a bit long article on the suspension system.

Not exactly sure how it works. Your guess is as good as mine. I just think that it is a super cool system. Are there other systems that allow you to adjust suspension on the fly like this? None that I've heard of unless its a drive mode that is pre-programmed.

I think the kit and apps DON'T go together. Those shocks look normal for adjustables - there's just a special wrench/socket that fits the knurled knob and you turn it a click or 2 or 3 at a time. The normal plastic shock dust cover goes over it (pops off pretty easy with a screw driver).

As for height, you merely turn the screw on the the threaded shock body to achieve a settled ride height that you want - measure the distance from the body mount or support to the spring housing... No magic there either.

To achieve those adjustments while in the cockpit with your phone requires the same electro-pneumatic controls that Audi uses for similar adjustments on cars with Dynamic Ride/Drive Select. The pic above, of this kit just doesn't show those parts.

So, while searching for lowering springs, I found this. Looks like what the OP was talking about. If you look at the picture on the vendor site, it has wires coming out of the shocks which suggests (I think, anyway) it will be electronically controlled to turn the gaskets to adjust the height.

Not really sure how it works but pretty cool indeed.

Yup - now THAT's more like it - I'm sure there's a few solenoids that push -pull (ratcheting) the tabs - is pretty cool, and really $3800 is not so bad for all you're getting - straight KWs as shown above are prolly in the $2500 neighborhood anyway ...

btw, I'm sure they'd fit any Quattro Q3 pretty fine too -

If it does fit non RS Q3 Quattros it should be a great suspension upgrade to consider for many of you Quattro owners!

I'm torn between whether I should go KW coilover or just Eibach springs. I'm never going to go lower than Eibach springs offer but having the option to just sounds nice and upgrading the shocks with the springs many be safer(?) What do you think?

KW makes great C/Os, not quite ohlins, but very good.
I have Ohlins on my S5 and while they do handle great (especially for that mass) - they are right stiff ...

You should be able to adjust the dampening. I've been in an RS4 equipped w/ Motorsport Ohlins and it was more plush a ride than even stock. What model do you have?

They're STāSIS versions and NOT adjustable for jounce/rebound - only height ...

Ah well. So who will do rebuilds now since they are out of biz?
Good question, but they're still answering the phone and email. I guess I'll find out in a few months when mine come due for their bi-annual rebuild...web site is still up too.
