Has anyone with access to vag/vcds tried to activate driver's seat memory, so that same can be stored in the remote keys? (There is considerable discussion in other Audi forums of users with " electrical" seats activating this function).
You got a link to those discussions?Has anyone with access to vag/vcds tried to activate driver's seat memory, so that same can be stored in the remote keys? (There is considerable discussion in other Audi forums of users with " electrical" seats activating this function).
Yes, of course, you are correct; but that's the whole point here!!Sorry, the Q3 does not have memory seats...

Software is one thing, hardware is another. The Q3 does not have the hardware to do it... I don't know if i have the terms correct but there is a memory seat module and the appropriate wiring which neither are there. Roger has a really good thread on this issue....I'm confused. If there are alterations that can be done to the car's settings - such as memory seat and mirrors folding, etc., then why can't the Audi dealer just program it in? :nerd:
Mainly because most car manufacturers don't completely write a new set of code for every model. There is a base set of code that they can use on multiple models to turn on and off modules as required. There is not an expectation that most users will ever be able access this base code and it isn't even even possible without a special tool and software.I'm confused. I guess that's that so I won't feel bad hijacking. I'm thrilled to have a power seat regardless. It's great comfortable seat with plenty of available adjustments.I am unable to access Address 36: Seat Mem. Drvr to change the coding. It leads me to the conclusion that this block is just not available on the Q3 as we had previously been told.
"oh the humanity".This coding will NOT work - there just aren't the right bits (NO seat memory) on a Q3 - the link referred to above is for an A5 or S5 - hence the A5OC site from whence it came (btw, I used to have an S5 and you can see 100s of my posts there under the same name if you like)- so I doubt the coding will even be accepted since a control module is missing from the CAN. For anyone who has NOT read my entire treatise on the subject of trying to add memory seats to the Q3, please check it out and share my frustrations ...![]()
Thanks Nick - sometimes I need all the help I can get - 0![]()
and don't take the time to search for it on the siteHahaha - sure thing. I guess this recurring thread just shows how much people wish for things like the memory seats.
