Memory Seat Mod

Here's a challenge for any of you mod-whizzes. It seems to me that memory seats involve a module that stores and retrieves seat settings. Do you think it possible to install such a module on the Q3 driver's seat? I assume it would involve hacking into the wiring under the seat between the setting buttons and the motors.

FYI, there is an earlier string on this centering on stealing the Tiguan seats and installing... but if I recall correctly it wasn't feasible at that time (year or so ago)...
Still isn't - it was my boon to try though - I'd guess with some very custom wiring I could make it happen, but by the time we'd get there it'd cost about $2K.

If you want it THAT bad, PM me and I'll discuss all the gory details ...including P/Ns and wiring mods - Oh, since you'll be wiring into your Central Electronics module, ABS module and other parts of the CAN, you can kiss your warranty for any/everything electrical way goodbye -

Oh God...not again...LOL

Okay, mea culpa. Sorry I didn't know this dead horse had been thoroughly beaten!

Man, I'd LOVE to do this, even talked it over with the Area Tech Rep, but the cost of admission is just too high - even if I didn't worry about the warranty impact.

Hi Roger,

Hate to add fuel to the fire, but why can't we pull 2015 Tiguan seats.

They have the memory buttons on the lower part of the seats.
Please READ my entire thread about this. The Tiguan seats and ours are already the same. You can buy a switch for about $60. BUT wiring it and connecting it to work IS the headache. Remember you have about 9 computers interacting all over this car thru the CAN. THEY ALL talk to each other and in specific ways and sometimes sequences. To get this right requires some hefty and anxious CAN wiring - thank Audi for leaving it out so you can get 0.6 mpg more. Putting it back like a Tiguan is a major job. I estimate more than $2K to put the $600 worth of missing parts and harnesses together.

If you want this $2600 worth while you kiss your electrical warranty way good-bye, I can provide the almost-exact details to do it.

Look, NO ONE wants this more than I do. I've done more research on this than Audi - although I wish they would catch up, so they can make a kit and sanction it - but they won't, cuz the solution (ala VW) is NOT the way they would execute it. But I just cannot imagine anyone wanting to spend the nearly $3K and the warranty killer for this. If anyone thinks they're way smarter than me about this - go for it. When you're screwed, just remember, you heard it here first.
