MMI for non-factory OEM

I've been a gps geek for a number of years and "if" the Q3 was mine and not the Mrs. I would have passed on the factory MMI and bought this.

My current commuter 2012 Chevy Cruze has an aftermarket GPS system and previously I had one in my 2009 Jetta TDI. These systems run IGO or IGO Primo and those are great gps software.

Plus this unit fold downs, like some of us are in the process of adapting our system.

I might've considered that too ... looks like even the GUI is a good imitation -
Now, the Mrs. tells me she would have considered this if we knew about it.

But my concern would have been that the factory MMI does control alot of other systems in the car and if there was a problem Audi might not cover it by blaming this aftermarket system.
Is it really that much better than the one that comes in the Audi stock? Other than the folding mechanic, is there much different about it?

I wouldn't say better or worse, just different,

It does run IGO8 or IGO Primo gps software which you can also customized.

Check out some of the pics and yes you can actually have a custom car with headlights.

There are a number of web sites to help with the software and updates as they come out.

Here's another unit for the Q3

My only concern with is is what if something happens electronically in regard to car settings. Will Audi say this system did something.

Otherwise for me it's a no brainer as I've been buying units like this for my cars since 2008.

These are intriguing units. Seems less expensive than OEM And the screen looks much bigger than the OEM unit. It would be nice to hear from someone whose installed one in a Q3.
Given they only fit cars with radio and not nav, there won't be many cars around that can take it.

They should fit Q3 that don't have Nav and I doubt every one has it.

will the aftermarket nav work with a 2015 Audi Q3? I recently purchased a Q3, that does not have NAV.

Looking the site over, it does day for the 2015.

So going by that I would say yes.

If you do buy it, please let me know and I'll PM you some sites for the updated maps.
