Is there anyway that anyone has figured out to keep the MMI off, but still able to use the radio and switch channels/presets through the driver info center? I know holding the volume button down a few seconds powers it all off (complete shutdown), then you have no functions whatsoever.

Possibly scanned over it, but couldn't find anything in the manual. In our Acura, the NAV screen will power up then stay off by default unless you acknowledge it, however you are still able to use radio functions without having the screen lit up with all the other stuff (nav, web stuff, etc).

I do not believe this is possible. :crying:

I stand corrected: actually looked in the car - had just been assuming it was like the Q5 I'd driven. Maybe this is because the Q3's screen is made to fold down when not in use?

On the NAR version there is NO suspend or blank/black out of the MMI screen without affecting other functions including the ones you want to keep active. The only way I am aware of to effectively do this is to use the fold-down screen option which just turns the screen off as it folds into the dash, leaving the rest of MMI powered/operational thru the driver center.

The more I'm checking the other thread and seeing all the others that did this, the more I want to now! Seems like a good summer mod !
