My 2016 Audi Q3 Has Arrived!

So this is my first post to this forum, but the fourtitude forums for the Q3 have crickets chirping. This seems to be a much more involved community! I'm Sébastien, and I live in Burlington, Vermont. When I saw the refreshed exterior and the Hainan Blue color in person at the NYIAS I knew that it was time to get one. I ordered my 2016 Q3 back in April the day that ordering became available, and it arrived last week on the 6th. It was the first 2016 in the state and the only one that the dealership here has received so far. The color is so bright and polarizing in person, and I love it. It's very difficult to capture the brightness in a photograph, however. I got the Prestige trim level with the sport package and black headliner. I love the small updates to the interior with more silver bits that help brighten it up a bit. The LED headlights at night are awesome and the new all-weather lights that replaced the fog lights also function as cornering lights at night, which is cool. I'm so excited to finally have the car, and I look forward to many adventures with it!

Welcome to the forum too - and NICE car - We look forward to your contributions and hope you find what you need here -
Ahhh, I knew I should have moved to the east coast sooner. You guys get special treatment! Your car is beautiful, and I am jealous!!
I hope you have many years of fun together.
I'll echo vestergirl - looks like the east coast gets preferential treatment :). I love where I live but appears that being a northwesterner is working against me on this one. I had my order submitted early as well but it took a while for it to be entered into the system so it was official in early May and I'm still sitting here without any confirmation of an arrival date and setting my sights out a month or more. Very pretty color and great to see more pics from actual owners. Please be sure to let us know how you like the Q3 as you get more time behind the wheel and discover more than those little test drives allow. Going through this experience makes me wonder about the value of the dealer in today's world. We get so much of our information on-line and rely less and less on the dealer to provide intel. One of their key roles is to allow us to experience a vehicle in person. Yet often they don't have many of a given model in stock - so you can't see the specific combination you are after and the test drive consists of a pretty short and incomplete experience (I guess you could press for more testing..and I give props to a local Jeep dealer that gave us the keys and told us to take the car out and drive around as we would like). Typically you end up spending a lot of money on something that you cross your fingers and hope you will love when it arrives. Wish there was a better way.... OK enough mental wandering...enjoy that new blue Q3

Cableguy has a point about the west coast, but really by only a week or less on the same ships that berth on the east coast - or as likely, his car could come off in Houston and get trucked.

But YOUR car is coming into the exact same US port as Sebastien's - that is Davisville, RI - so there's NO preference for deliveries at all. It's really a matter of when your ABS actually posts the order and then the natural flow. I've heard dealers that take "orders", but then spend a few weeks searching for unsold cars in the pipeline that are the same, BEFORE even placing an order at all. THAT takes away precious time-to-delivery in the end, if a twin cannot be found unsold. And as hot as these cars have been, most get sold from the pipeline before anyway.

Adding to this confusion is the fact that someone will spec a car and "think" that they have ordered one, when in fact they have not, but only that their car has been "located" in the pipeline - a MUCH MUCH shorter wait time.

By the way, did you inspect your Q3 to look for any damage that might have happened while it was in transit? It's not all too uncommon for that to happen.
Congrats on the new purchase.

What do you mean by the color being polarizing? Do you mean you either love it or hate it? Because I love it. I think it looks great.
Nice ride...I see they now offer the S-Line package (the one I wanted but wasn't available in the 2015)
Hey Sébastien, I think I found you on instagram with your new blue 2016! Gave you a like, love the color!
like the color. how close to sepang blue is it?

It's brighter, lighter and slightly more yellow-greenish than Sepang - kind of like the difference from Santorin to Estoril to Sepang then to Hainan ...

Congratulations! I love the color. I envy the sport package and black headliner. I love my Prestige. It feels like a really great choice every time I get in it.

black head liners hold tremendous value especially to us folks that have been used to getting black interior cars with dark grey headliners... weird combination. My old Lexus had that.

Funny, I am OVERJOYED at NOT having black all around me in my beautiful new Prestige. LOVE the light bright interior.

Congratulations! The blue looks amazing and much more vivid than what is displayed on the audi site.

Glad to hear that, some folks like to have colors that set off the interior of their vehicles and you sure have that!

I just like consistency in design and color layout.
