Hi guys,

Well, my tires are almost at the end of their life.

What brand and model of tires would you guys recommend in the high or ultra high performance category but with good grip and good treadwear balance?

Current setup is 235/55R17

I'm also considering going for a 19" setup with 245/40R19
Do you guys happen to know the OEM offset of this size of wheel/tire combination?

THANKS!!

Right there with you. My OEM tires (30k miles) are cupping and wore really quickly IMO. I'm looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus. I was never really a fan of the OEM tires.

I love the idea of moving up a size, but I don't feel like buying new rims.

I think that’s a safe bet, it’s ranked number one by Consumer Reports in the “ultra high performance all season” category as well as top rated at Tire Rack. I’m far from new tires but will likely select the same ones. If you end up getting them let us know how you like them!

Thanks. I ordered them yesterday and will have them installed next Thursday. Full review to come. I'm disappointed I only made it 31k miles on the OEM Pirelli Scorpions.

Wow, Discount Tire called today and had my new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus's delivered from another store. I had them installed today. I have not done a lot of highway driving yet, but they handle and corner much better than the OEM Pirelli's. The car is quieter and the ride feels a lot more luxurious. I'm going on a 150-mile cruise tomorrow so I'll let you know how they do on a longer haul.

To top it off I got a four-wheel alignment too. The front toe was out of spec which probably caused some of my early wear issues on the Pirelli's.

I got them and love them. I have 5k miles on them and just rotated them. They are quiet and handle well. I bought mine through Discount Tire. (Also got a $70 gift card with purchase.)

Awesome, thanks for the update! The choice is easy for me when it’s time to change them :)
