Hmm, I thought I posted here already when I signed up but it seems the system ate my post.
We just got a new '17 Q3 premium quattro, and I just sold my '99 A4 1.8T quattro wagon which I've been driving since '08. I went on the test-drive for it with my brother when he bought it in '00. I had a '98 A4 1.8T quattro sedan from '97 to '04.
We were actually considering a RAV4 SE before I learned that the Q3 premium started in the same price range. We test drove both on the same day and immediately bought the Q3 even though we started the day thinking it was just a research mission.
I'm hoping I won't miss my manual transmission and torsen differential too much. The Q3 seems like a car my wife can also drive comfortably, and I really like it so far. The handling and basic ergonomics are very familiar to me from my older cars, but it's definitely a quieter and smoother ride.
