Anyone have any docs or useful links on how to pop open the overhead?

Thinking of installing the Homelink module but couldn't find anything on the web on its proper removal so I don't risk snapping anything.

If I recall correctly Roger had some good advice on this (no surprise there) on a previous (homelink?) thread... NO NEED TO REMOVE THE THE CONSOLE, just use the template to cut out the hole... Again, going from memory so not 100% sure, you will just need to search...

Thanks I'll search around again but I remember reading that the template was part of a dealers install kit which wouldn't be included if I ordered the parts by other means.

I'd hate to cut a hole without knowing what's behind. You only get one shot at it.

You DO need to remove the console if just for access to behind the headliner AND to connect the wiring... this is BEST done by your dealer though (it's only about an hour's labor for the whole thing) as they have some really well engineered (typically German excess) special tools for it - the regional service manager may have them if the dealer doesn't) - PM me if you need more help -
