I got a new 2016 Q3 Prestige... Love it so far. However something has now happened with the tailgate. It doesn't seem to want to close all the way when closing via key fob, button on tailgate, or button on door. It closes about 90%, stops and then beeps like something is in the way. This is with an empty trunk or full. Didn't see anything online or the manual. Any ideas?

First...welcome aboard. Can you simply take it back to the dealer...
My .02. Do you have a cargo mat that is not pushed 100% forward. Maybe the lip is holding up the gate. Check the latch in the tailgate...it should be "OPEN" in the unengaged position. Can you post a close up of the latch position.

I wonder if it's the height adjustment button being set oddly.

Maybe check to see if you have the rear hatch height adjust button set up so that it is stopping at 90% vs. 100% closed.

This setting is used to adjust the height of where the hatch stop.

That's really the main thing. A lot of people are afraid to check everything out whilst they're there. Make sure it works properly, and if it doesn't, refuse to take the vehicle and let them re-open that work order.

Welcome to the forum - glad you found us and hope you come back for more - I agree with the couple of observations above : namely the tailgate has been adjusted oddly or there is something unusual in its way... does the dash indicator come on too? That may signal a fault that's been recorded so dealer can better track this down. Please let us know and post some pics of your ride -

What is the 5k service? When I bought my 2017 Audi Q3 I was told by the dealer that maintenance is at 15k or after the calendar year (whichever comes first). But when I got home I read the Q3 manual and it says at 10k (or first year) and no mention of 5k service. I assumed the dealer meant 15k kilometers instead of 15k miles.

I did a little digging and there is a change in maintenance schedule between 2016 and 2017 Audi vehicles.

There was a FREE oil service at 5K (or 1 year) within the NAR for 2016 (and older) models...
