I've read elsewhere that the Q3's fuel economy is the same as the Q5's

2wd/4wd at only 20/28/23 and 20/29/23

Either someone in marketing got lazy and copy pasted figures that don't exist yet, or the Q3 is inefficient?

I believe the U.S. market Q3 is less efficient due to an earlier iteration of the 2.0T motor, and the less efficient 6-speed automatic compared to the Q5's 8-speed automatic.

I agree - we're (US) only getting the 6sp Tiptronic (probably to keep costs down) and with the slightly detuned 2.0 TFSI (200 vs 211 hp - older, smaller turbo (KO3) also for pricing) plus still having 3600 lbs. to haul just can't get more than about 28-29 mpg even with an egg on the throttle ...

Btw, with my TTS Supercharged V8 S5 (612 Hp/595 Nm) I can manage almost 26-27 mpg at 75 mph with 6sp... fine by me!!
