I just received a notice about the parking lights not complying with US/Canadian standards for illumination when the vehicle is parked and locked. Anyone else get this? They seem to just want to re-code. Should affect all 2015-2017 cars.

Hmm, it would seem strange the inadequacy of lights that are not required to be "on" when my car is parked would be deemed worthy of a "safety recall."

Strange, but that seems to be the recall letter's gist. Has anyone actually had the work done?

I believe the lights are required to be on when the light switch is on, regardless of whether the door is locked or not. The lights are not inadequate, it is the on-ness which is inadequate.

I checked ours, and sure enough, they are not on when the door is closed even though the switch is on....other than that, they are quite adequate!

Mine is a 2015 Canadian, lights stay on even if locked. Maybe it's some type of random bug. Wonder if they will reset all my Carista changes... I imagine it will. Next Wednesday.

I have two letters as of today for my Q3 duo. I will call tomorrow to see if I can schedule for next week and report back.
