Some VCDS mods that work for 2016 Q3

I've been having a lot of fun with these mods after getting the RT cable. I've found that a lot of sites that document codes for the Q3 are actually posting lists for other Audi's and the codes don't work on the Q3. Here are some that I have done personally on my 2016 Q3. Many of these are already posted on this forum so I've duplicated them for confirmation but I've added some new ones too. I've arranged them in order of program sequence. Enjoy!

Thanks for this PTI-Andy.

Actually, I've added five that I did not find on this forum (at least not that I could find as a thread topic), so no, not all. I thought I'd include those and what I've confirmed works on a 2016 model since someone asked about that. I put them in order of program sequence to make it easier for someone to build their program agenda and do their choices all at once. So, I thought I was making it easier. Should I go back and create five more threads for these?

Enable Independent Fogs control with high beams
Cornering Fog Light
Enable Boost Pressure in LT DIS (not default on my 2016)
Disable NAV & Phone warning messages while entering data at speed
Close rear hatch with remote (single press)
That's why I said "(if not all)" - as for re-posting, up to you - that was the intent of this section's design, so folks would be able to peek through the thread leaders rather than "learn" to jump here for example ...

btw, THANKS for doing this and that !!! :D

What is an RT cable ? And how do you get one
RT stands for Ross-Tech, as in for use with VCDS to do these code changes ...
Any mods to make the alarm chirp when locking the car ?
I don't think you need VCDS to do this - you can change this in the MMI if your alarm is OEM ...
Oil temp question!

I have enabled lap timer/oil temp and boost. Lap timer and boost work perfectly, but although oil temp is displayed, no temperature ever registers! Any thoughts?

LIY
As another post notes, oil temp needs to be fully warm to register... Is the car getting really up to normal operating temperature?
90 mile trip! Ambient air temperature about 63 degrees.

Does any other adaptation need to be enabled?

Many thanks!

LIY
Oil temp has never showed a number on my 2016 Q3. Others have said this as well so I'm not sure if it is a 2016 issue or if we are missing something to make it work. Has anyone seen this work and if so what model/year do you have?

-Andy
Going from memory I believe that this was intended for the Diesel engines... If that is the case then that would explain why it isn't working on the gas engines....
I thought the question WAS for a TDI - I'm not sure the gasoline engines even have the oil temp sensor ...

Alarm chirp is disabled in all UK Audis by default , I have activated this on my 2009 A5 and my new 2016 A5 with VCDS and will try this on my wifes Q3 when she leaves it at home using the same codes .
BTW the windows will close with a long push on key fob but they do not drop with a long push on the unlock , any coding that people might have used to activate this .
Thanks

When you're in VCDS look around Central Electronics for "Comfort Settings" and the windows up/down. I think this is where you'll find it. I'll check mine today, but think it does do it. Up and down, open and close may be different bits though ...
FWIW, on my girlfriend's '16, after enabling open/close of the windows (comfort settings); only the close function works (works for windows and roof). As I've seen on a few other VW/Audi models lately this may be a function of the control module (despite having a check box for opening functions)

Ok, so it's not only me. LOL!

The below only cloese the windows if they are open.
They DON"T open them via the lock o nthe fob.

Close Windows & Sunroof with extended hold on lock button

They open using the unlock on the fob, not the lock.
