Hi all. I just did my 5K service and was told my tires needed to be realigned. This came as a surprise to me since about 90% of my driving so far has been highway miles and I am super careful with speedbumps, potholes, etc in my Q3 since I love it. The car also felt perfect and I did not feel any pulling one direction or the other that would indicate any misalignment. I can't shake the feeling that this was an unnecessary service but I've attached the alignment report to see what you all think.

I'd ask to see the alignment report at PDI. Seems to me a very small adjustment needed, but of more concern is the Caster - which on these cars is not multi-link, is un-adjustable. Almost looks like you (or someone) DID smack a speed bump or pothole on the left side sometime to cause this ...

Also wonder why the comment on the bottom says an alignment was NOT performed -

I'll see if I can get the initial alignment report and also check on why it says that at the bottom. I don't recall hitting a big speed bump or pothole but maybe I did.

I called Audi today and they agreed to refund the cost of the alignment. The more I thought about it, the more I felt the car came to me not properly aligned. I am ridiculously careful in this car. I read this helpful article that may be of interest to some: http://oncars.blogspot.com/2011/08/that-brand-new-car-may-need-wheel.html. The main take away is that many new cars are not properly aligned and it is a good idea to ask for proof of proper alignment before taking possession of a new car.
