The LED Air Brake on the Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro is Really Cool

Have you guys seen the Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro's LED air brake? It is a bit over the top, but very cool nonetheless.

The electrohydraulic air brake lifts from flush to "nearly vertical," cutting the A3 Clubsport's 155-to-0-mph stopping distance by almost 40 feet. When deployed, it acts as a blinking third brake light so that others know that they are about to rear-end you.

You can't really put this air brake spoiler on the Q3 since its a hatchback, but I still think that its a interesting feature that I'd like to see in real life up close.

Thats actually not a bad idea, I like it, it's look almost seems motorsports inspired, i could be wrong
It kinda seems like while you would be braking you wouldn't be able to see out the back window, but who needs to do that anyway? I want to imagine it on the Audi Q3, but I don't think that it is possible to really integrate that into a hatchback design.

or maybe they figured you would be going too fast to care who's behind you :D

That's a fun way to think about it.

Once you go fast enough to get the air brake to come up, you won't have to worry about anybody behind you.

I guess that the A3 Clubsport Quattro can probably get up to some pretty fast speeds.
It is, but considering most people will be using this car for commuting, it could be an issue if you try to look back to see who's behind you.
Maybe it's not as bad as we think it is.
when the flap comes up it cover a lot viewing area but do you need to look behind you when you are going that fast. im sure the flap on activates at certain speeds. it wouldn't be coming up in 20mph traffic.

if you're on a track, depending on how fast and far away the other cars are, you may have to.

depending on when it's set to come up, on the street you may also have to look behind
