that is true but how often is that to happen? if that happens you must not be paying attention or have other things going on that shouldnt be going onunless they make steering efforts super low. as in full lock without taking your hand off the wheel.. i dont think steering wheels will ever be disconnected like that
safety issue.. looks like it would snag on something. and especially if the steering ratio is on crack. you will go right into the wall. the only reasons f1s can pull it off is because their steering ratios are insanely high

That it would, even something that should and could be in the next Audi R8!Maybe the split steering wheel would be for a track mode or performance mode in a higher end Audi. I for one would think that is a pretty cool feature. By that point I think that driver assistance tech will be pretty advanced which might stop you from over steering too.
