Hi everyone. This week I checked my tire pressure in my 2021 Q3 and all four tires were 28 PSI. Required pressure is 38 PSI. I assume that this is normal since the outside temp has dropped from around 85 - 90 degrees F. to around 40 in the past month. Should the TPMS alerted me that the pressure was low? I pumped the tires up to 38 PSI and reset the the MMI. I think the TPMS is worthless.

Most auto manufacturers have gone to a passive TPMS system. Input from the ABS system compares rotational rates for the wheels. If one tire loses air, the rotational rate will change and you will get a low pressure warning. I, too, prefer an active system with sensors in the wheels.
