As we all know Audi made the decision to debut the 2015 Q3 in North America on the cusp of its mid-cycle update. Lets have a look at where the dichotomies between 2015 and 2016 lay.

First and foremost the refresh brings a $1200 price increase, with the price increase comes an increase in included kit. Front and rear parking sensors are standard along with a backup camera. Front and rear fascias also took a small trip to the drafting table and came back somewhat revised and somewhat sharper.

The 2016 Q3 Premium plus begins at $34,625 which will net you xenon headlamps, heated 12 way power leather seats, push button start, dual zone climate control and a 2.0T engine as standard. Quattro available for $2,100.

Jump to the Prestige trim for $39,525 which adds navigation, Audi apps, Wi-Fi hotspot, 14 speaker Bose system, power tail gate and blindspot alert. LED headlamps and sequential turn signals are optional, along with the sport pack and S Line farkles. Quattro is still a $2,100 option

Biggest change coming into 2016 however has to be the addition of new paints to the palette. Audi has added a new red, 2 blues and another silver.

Except for the outer body changes, there's nothing in the 2016 that I don't already have in my 2015, with the exception of the sequential taillight and LED headlamps.

I just hope for the next generation model that they kick design up a notch, sort of to the extent Lexus went to their current design. A wilder looking audi should do us and them some good.
We had the choice of buying a 2015 or ordering a 2016, and chose the latter. The differences are small and not even noticeable to the general public who do not own a Q3.

My wife and I personally like the new bumper and LED headlights and as it is getting late in the buying year, we decided to get an early start on the next buying year.....just to have a new car a little longer.

Re: Lexus, I totally agree. I drive a 2nd generation Lexus RX400h hybrid, and found the 3rd generation to be same old, same old for the most part. But with the introduction of the 4th generation this fall....I'm buying a new one! I love the bold new look, while my wife prefers the more traditional look and size of the Q3.

The new RX450h is out to 192.5 inches, 20 inches longer than the Q3, and gets 29mpg, so I may go to the NX300h at 182.3 inches and 33mpg. But I'm not doing anything until we take delivery of the Q3 in September and take at least a couple of road trips....

I really don't like the front design especially the metal connecting the grill to the headlamps, it looks like a unibrow.
It also looks like they are trying make it look like the lexus NX which looks kind of knock knee'd with that that new crazy end.
Glad I got my 2015, it may be a bit more plain but I feel it's classier, fits more with the lineup like a baby Q5.

The 2016 Q7 has the same look as the new Q3 and next year's Q5 gets it too ...

I haven't decided yet. I think its just different, not better or worse.

Might be one of those things that I have to see in person before I can really make a judgement.

I don't think Audi should go chasing the dragon of style like Lexus has. Lexus were for so long sexless, reliable thing, its almost like they have to go over the top in order to punch people in the face. German styling on the other hand is typically constrained and tasteful. Audi's are hot right now, no sense chasing a PR stunt with your design language IMO...

Another thing to point out about Audi, they have a great foundation for design, for future design, as seen with what we have now and what was available with the last few years. All they have to do is refine those foundations, MUCH like in the same way we've seen them do it with the NEW Audi A8 ;)

Great choice!

They've really stepped it up with the new RX, but when it comes to Audi, I think they're trying to stretch things out and not put all their eggs into one basket. If they needed to boost sales i bet we'd be seeing much more interesting Audi designs come out. But so far i'm happy with what they're doing... after all i'm here!
