I know in my MK6 VW GTI I could also program the windows to open via the remote, is that possible with the Q3 as well? That was one of my favorite mods since I could open the windows on my way to my car on really hot days haha.

Yes. It is possible on the Q3. Once you program it, a new menu will appear under sat settings and there you can select what windows to will open remotely

Sat setting? I thing I was trying to write CAR settings! Anyways,
on you MMI go to :CAR/SYSTEMS/VEHICLE SETTINGS/CENTRAL LOCKING and there should be an option that let you choose what windows can be operated using the remote.
If you don't have that menu an you MMI, then you will need to program it via VCDS

Here is a link to the VCDS manual that explains how to use the tool. If you know how the software works then the instructions in the first post of all of the mod threads make more sense. It explains how the get in to change the coding options within each control module.I want to do this to my new q3 2016.

Any reason why one of my windows sometime loses this setting?
Last night my left rear window wouldn't go up or down after I had lowered all the windows using the driver door buttons - first & then tried to raise them with the fob.
The left rear didn't want to budge.
I was able to raise the left rear window using the driver door button but not so with the fob.
