Anyone on here play around with VCDS coding on the Q3 yet? I'm interested to see what is possible to enable via some simple coding changes.

For those of you that don't know what I'm referring to: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html

For example, on my 2011 Volkswagen GTI I was able to enable a gauge sweep when the ignition is turned on, rolling up/down the windows via key fob, disabling the daytime running lights, and enabling the European headlight switch for city lights and rear fogs. There are tons of other possibilities hidden within this program, I'm excited to see if anyone on here finds any hidden gems

I might be investing in a cable soon for both our cars, so I'll update if I do & find anything neat!

Yes, however, the timing of the fault (Wed 2/11) doesn't align up with when I changed out the pedal set (Sat 2/14). I haven't reset it as I was assuming that if it occurs again, the frequency would increment and would tell me again...I guess we'll see. Tempted to take it to the dealer to see what they know.

Will do more exploring...

Hi saw another thread on Ross tech forums, so hopefully more channel maps and autoscans have been sent to RT for labels to be created for next version.

"LVDS cable for display unit" - That would be the digital rearview camera connector. We hope to add that to the next update to VCDS.

That had to be one of the codes thrown when I changed my MMI screen too, but I didn't even check 'em - just cleared them once I realized that I had unplugged/replugged them...

Perhaps you just have a loose one - heck, change your screen to fold -down, and you'll have to remove/check the cables and clear the DTCs anyway - >

It's looking more tempting to perform the fold-down...currently getting a quote from OEMVWShop. Anybody interested in a group buy?

Yes. I've been waiting for their website to come back up and I finally got an email from them. When do you want to go ahead? If the parts are going to different addresses I can't see how we can save on the shipping though

Do like I did - pick one of y'all to do the group-buy (looks like jtechico is volunteering), coordinate with the others in advance to paypal the leader, then when they come to the leader under ONE international shipment, re-ship within the NAR via flat-rate (medium box works fine at about $14) USPS to everybody here ... works like a champ.

I know it was a bit over $100 for the parts each and $40 shipping. Sounds okay to me. I'm interested

It was a flat €40 for shipping, which works out to about $45 today ... small today but maybe someday later, more significant -

Good Morning,
I may be interested in the group buy also but I don’t do PayPal. That could be an issue and if so that’s fine with me, no big deal...

Isn’t there also codes to be re-set once the change is made? Another issue for me if that is the case.

I keep hoping that if the fold down screen is on the new facelift model Audi USA would either offer a kit and/or the parts "locally" to minimize the pain...

...only to clear the unplug/replug DTCs for the cables - dealer could do this on next service - doesn't show anywhere without scan and no adverse driving impacts-

...not sure about this one, but sort of doubt it - it's not like this has been such an attraction to update like for example converting to LED tail lights, which Audi did offer upgrade kits for (at least in Germany on some models) -

Here is a mod I made I really like. The best part is it only turns on when it is dark. I thought it worked only when you use the turn signal, but have learned that it works automatically when you turn the steering wheel. It turns on the one fog light associated with the turn. Hope you all enjoy it as well.

Hey... So call me crazy or stupid but does anybody know how to override the "safety" feature that turns the video off if you are watching a DVD while moving? I have 2 small kids and don't see why it would be so bad to at least let them watch a movie while on the road vs. only while stopped at a red light or in a parking lot..

I get that it makes sense for safety but the Nav screen and all the other MMI functionallity that does work while driving is a pretty big distraction as well. Heck I think even parts of the google street view works while you are in motion...
