A lot of the reviews have dinged the Q3 for a lack of cargo room. I'm happy to announce I was able to carry home a big box containing a commode from Lowe's without incident... and with some room to spare.

Did you have the rear seats up or down?

Down. The box is 16" deep x 28" wide x 30" tall. We laid it on its side.

Not bad at all.
But being a small SUV, they have to expect some compromise with space. For most owners and potential owners it should be enough IMO.

Plus there are options out there for those that will need more space than the Q3's cargo spaces can provide.

I've been quite pleasantly surprised how much I can stuff in there. Two trips to the nursery already and my addiction to impulse remodeling is served reasonably well.

The Q3 is much more user friendly for cargo than my former Honda Accord with its huge trunk.

Would be awesome if people could post some pictures of their Q3 loaded with cargo. A photo would give a visual that would make it a lot easier to really understand what the cargo capacity of the Q3 is.

Well, here are the winter tires from my wife's Mini. Total length is approximately 34" and diameter 24".(16" wheels).

Thanks for posting that up for us.

The Q3 can hold a fair amount of cargo, though it isn't the best cargo vehicle around. Of course, it is a small CUV so if you wanted a bigger CUV with more cargo room then you should have got one.

Other CUVs in the same segment might have a touch more cargo room too, but those aren't Audis.

I might add, the hatch did fully close fine and it was much more pleasant to load and unload than my previous A4.
